JAW ALIGN is an initiative started by Dr. Isha Verma. Her interest to address the root cause of issues led her to realise that crooked teeth in kids is not just an esthetic concern but functional issue as these kids are at higher risk of developing sleep related disorders like sleep apnea, heart issue, high BP, cholesterol, diabetes etc. when they grow up.

Dr. Isha Verma got her training and certifications from MRC Australia and further did her fellowship in Craniofacial myology and pediatric sleep which is recognised by International Association of Orofacial Myology, IAOM.

She also completed her fellowship in neuromuscular dentistry from International college of craniomandibular orthopaedics, ICCMO USA

Myofunctional Treatments

NATURAL TEETH ALIGNMENT IN KIDS

Preventing crooked teeth in children as young as 5 years old involves focusing on muscle and airway-centered orthodontics, which addresses the root causes and promotes proper jaw growth and development. Our treatments aim to identify and correct the epigenetic causes of malocclusion, naturally aligning teeth and fostering healthy, aesthetically pleasing facial development. Modern research indicates that incorrect myofunctional habits - such as mouth breathing, tongue thrusting, reverse swallowing, and thumb sucking are the primary causes of crooked teeth. These habits inhibit the development of the child's jaws and face, leading to orthodontic problems that cannot be resolved only with fixed braces.

Children with these abnormal myofunctional habits experience excessive muscular influence on their developing jaws, resulting in an underdeveloped upper jaw and restricted forward growth of the lower jaw. Beyond malocclusion, improper jaw development can impact a child's breathing by restricting the airway, potentially contributing to sleep-disordered breathing.

SLEEP

Sleep is vital for a child's development, and sleep disorders can significantly affect their health and well-being. We provide specialized pediatric sleep services to diagnose and treat sleep disorders in children, including snoring, sleeping with mouth open, sleep apnea, and other breathing-related issues. Our team collaborates closely with parents and caregivers to create personalized treatment plans that ensure children get the restful sleep they need to grow and thrive.

In adults the snoring might be a complex issue arising from both oral and nasal factors. We help the patient identify the cause and treat it with simple oral sleep appliances which have much more patient compliance as compared to CPAP machines

TONGUE TIE RELEASE

Tongue-tie is a common condition where the tissue connecting the tongue to the floor of the mouth is too tight or short, restricting tongue movement. This can lead to feeding and speech development issues in infants and young children which also contributes to compromised jaw growth & development.

In adults it causes malocclusion and sleep issues which leads have severe health complications like heart issues, depression etc. We release tongue-tie quickly with pre and post myofunctional therapy and painlessly, enhancing tongue movement.
